Students of Cairo University, who are supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi, clash with riot police in Cairo on January 12, 2014. Reports state that three years after the Arab Spring, pro-military groups and old regime stalwarts are working together to back Egypt's draft constitution in a referendum, which they hope will lend legitimacy to last year's ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi. The vote, set to take place on 14 and 15 January 2014, comes against the backdrop of weeks of violent clashes, which the military-backed government has blamed on Morsi's now-outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.
