Hisham's Palace, located about 5 kilometers to the north of the city of Jericho, near the West Bank Oct. 11, 2010. The palace was built by the Umayyad Caliph Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik in 724 -743 AD and Al-Walid from 743 to 749 AD the seat of the State.The mansion consists of a group of buildings, mosques and baths and rooms filled with ancient columns, and is mosaic and wall ornaments that fine examples of art and ancient Islamic architecture. Experts say that a violent earthquake hit the area and destroyed buildings in Hisham's Palace before they were completed. And by the dust and debris accumulated preserved mosaics and beautiful paintings in the palace . Photo by Eyad Jadallah
