Palestinian Ahmed Mansor collects plastics and metals from a pile of waste in Jabaliya refugee camp, Gaza Strip, 19 February 2012. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) states that the Israeli blockade on Gaza has made life more difficult for nearly all inhabitants of the refugee camp. Unemployment levels have increased dramatically, with a large proportion of the residents relying on UNRWA’s nutritional and financial assistance. Basic hygiene is also a major concern in the camp, where 90 per cent of the water is unfit for human consumption. Photo by Ali Jadallah
