Egyptian election officials count ballots of the first round of Egypt's presidential elections, in a polling station in Cairo, Egypt, at the end of the election's second day on 24 May 2012. Polling stations closed at 9 p.m. (1900 GMT) after the Egyptian election commission extended voting by one hour to encourage more people to vote on 24 May after turnout was low on the second and last day of Egypt's first free presidential election. According to the election commission the counting of ballots was about to start immediately. More than 50 million eligible voters were casting their ballots over the two-day polls. Results are not expected until 29 May 2012. Photo by Ashraf Amra
