Palestinian gunmen of the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades march during a military parade to mark the 50th anniversary of the Fatah movement in the Qalandia refugee camp near the West Bank city of Ramallah, January 1, 2015. Yasser Arafat founded Fatah in 1965 with the goal of destroying Israel. The party rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s with a series of hijackings and other attacks. Over time, Fatah moderated and accepted Israel's right to exist, while seeking a Palestinian state. Arafat died in 2004. Photo by Shadi Hatem
